Inmarsat Orchestra
Inmarsat Orchestra is soon to be a new Inmarsat service that combine landbased 5G connectivity with Low orbit satellites (LEO), with Inmarsat existing Inmarsat GX/G2X and the traditional Inmarsat I4 services like BGAN, GBB, SBB - forming a new multi coverage service that no matter location have the possibility to connect and always through the source providing the best possible connectivity as well as price.
The first part of Orchestra consists of a new terrestrial network deployment. The company aims to support its airline and maritime customers at major (air)ports by shunting traffic off of the satellite beams to this ground-based solution. Connecting to this new network will require an additional terminal and antenna on board. For aircraft it will, according to Hardinger, come in the form of a new antenna on the belly of the plane. The associated terminal would integrate with the satellite link atop the aircraft, with data flowing over whichever offers the best performance to the aircraft.
Inmarsat is arguably late to the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) party, but the company is not worried. Nor is it planning to rush an investment forward. The initial stages of Orchestra will focus on developing the architecture to support a LEO layer in the company’s network, not actually building the satellites. And if the company decides the timing and costs are right, it can then move forward with the major capital investment that the satellites necessitate.
Much like the terrestrial components, the LEO constellation a targeted solution, not a global offering. It will be used to support demand “hotspots in the world which are not close to land, not close to terrestrial access points.” By limiting the required coverage area the company hopes to limit the number of satellites required and the associated cost.

Inmarsat GX Assurance Data
All Inmarsat GX terminals have up to 88 different measurement metrics being generated as well as terminal events used for trouble shooting.
The merics generate constatly assurande data that can be collected using our implemented API - it will allow data to be captured and stored into a range of Elasticsearch nodes - the amount of data is very large so it demand Big Data handling allowing reports, graphs and similar to be generated.
Assurance metric will be linked to the given satellite terminal, the each of the many data pipes inside the terminal communication - we will capture all data for terminals that go online.
Following can data be displayed in our satellite business environment interfaces as listed data, as reports or as graphs. It is also possible to build own reports, extract or display data directly using our integrated Kibana or Grafana tools.
Assurance data is an important part of the Inmarsat GX connectivity as it is allowing advanced trouble shooting, allowing the end user to monitor or see traffic that isn't a normal part of Inmarsat GX that only offer flatrate subscription fees.
Access directly Inmarsat assurance data, view graphs showing requested CIR, see terminal location directly plotted on maps - point on a given point and get additional data like example altitude, temperatur or similar.
